2 бо відаю вашу охоту, і нею хвалюся за вас македо́нянам, що Аха́я готова з минулого року, а ваша ре́вність заохо́тила багатьох. |
|
3 А я послав братів, щоб моя похвала́, щодо вас, не даремна була в цім випа́дкові, але, як казав, щоб були ви пригото́ва́ні, |
|
4 щоб, коли македо́няни при́йдуть зо мною та зна́йдуть, що ви неготові, щоб не осоро́митись нам — не кажемо вам — у цій речі. |
|
5 Отож, я наду́мався, що треба вблагати братів, щоб пішли перше до вас та приготува́ли заздалегі́дь оголошений ваш щедрий дар, щоб був він пригото́ваний, як щедрий дар, а не річ примусова. |
|
6 А до цього кажу́: Хто скупо сіє, — той скупо й жатиме, а хто сіє щедро, — той щедро й жатиме! |
|
7 Нехай кожен дає, як серце йому призволя́є, — не в смутку й не з примусу, бо Бог любить того, хто з радістю дає! |
|
8 А Бог має силу всякою благода́ттю вас збагати́ти, щоб ви, мавши за́вжди в усьому всілякий достаток, збага́чувалися всяким добрим учинком, |
|
9 як написано: „Розси́пав та вбогим роздав, — Його праведність триває навіки!“ |
|
10 А Той, Хто насіння дає сіяче́ві та хліб на поживу, — нехай дасть і примно́жить ваше насіння, і нехай Він зрости́ть плоди праведности вашої, |
|
11 щоб усім ви збагачувались на всіляку щирість, яка через нас чинить Богові дяку. |
|
12 Бо ді́ло служі́ння цього не тільки випо́внює недостачі святих, але й багатіє багатьма́ подяками Богові. |
|
13 Досвідченням цього служі́ння вони хвалять Бога за по́слух Христовій Єва́нгелії, що ви визнаєте її, та за щирість учасництва з ними й усіма́, |
|
14 вони за вас моляться й тужать по вас із-за дуже великої Божої благода́ті на вас. |
|
15 Дяка Богові за невимо́вний дар Його! |

|
1 CONCERNING the ministration to the saints, it is superfluous for me to write to you. |
|
2 For I know that you have made up your minds, and that is why I boasted of you to the Macedonians stating that A-cha'ia was ready a year ago; and your zeal has stirred up a great many people. |
|
3 Yet I have sent the brethren, so that our pride in you should not be in vain because of this question; for as I have said, you must be prepared: |
|
4 Lest it happen some Macedonians come with me, and find you unprepared and we would be ashamed for, because of our pride in you, we would not say anything which would put the blame on you. |
|
5 Therefore I thought it necessary to ask these, my brethren, to go before me to you, and make ready in advance the contribution, of which you have long ago been notified, that you might have it ready as a contribution and not as though it were forced on you. |
|
6 But remember this, He who sows sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he who sows generously shall reap also generously. |
|
7 So let every man give according to what he has decided in his mind, not grudgingly or of necessity: for God loves a cheerful giver. |
|
8 God is able to make all goodness abound to you, and may you always have enough of everything for yourselves, and may you abound in every good work: |
|
9 As it is written, He has distributed liberally; and given to the poor; and his righteousness endures for ever. |
|
10 Now he who gives seed to the sower, and bread for food, will supply and multiply your seed, and cause the fruits of your righteousness to grow; |
|
11 That you may be enriched in everything, in all liberality, for such generosity enables us to perfect thanksgiving to God. |
|
12 For the administration of this service not only supplies the wants of the saints, but it also is made abundant by many thanksgivings to God. |
|
13 By this experiment of charitable service they glorify God in that you have subjected yourselves to the faith of the gospel of Christ, and through your generosity you have become partakers with them and with all men, |
|
14 And they offer prayer on your behalf with greater love, because of the abundance of the grace of God which has been on you. |
|
15 Thanks be to God for his incomparable gift. |
